I am a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon trained in the management of general trauma with specialist training in the management of conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow. I also supervise and train resident doctors and medical students.

I attended Queen’s University Medical School, graduating in 2011 and subsequently completed my specialist surgical training and examinations in Northern Ireland. I then completed the Liverpool Upper Limb Fellowship under Professor Peter Brownson, amongst other renowned experts.

I currently work in the Western Health and Social Care Trust, based primarily at Altnagelvin Area Hospital.

As a trauma surgeon, I routinely manage trauma affecting the upper and lower limbs.

I have further specialist training in the management of complex upper limb trauma and in managing orthopaedic problems in the upper limb – primarily in the shoulder and elbow but also in the hand and wrist.

My treatment areas include but are not limited to:

  • Shoulder arthritis
  • Subacromial pain
  • Shoulder instability (including complex instability)
  • Rotator cuff injury
  • ACJ pain
  • Biceps pathology
  • Elbow instability
  • Elbow arthritis
  • Carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome
  • Trigger fingers
  • General Trauma
