Specialist Paediatric Dietitian
BSc Hons Nutrition and Dietetics, Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen) Member of British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI), Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Deirdre is a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian with 14 years of clinical experience in dietetics.
She has experience working in both acute and community settings, with positions held as a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. Deirdre worked as a Paediatric Dietitian within the children’s allergy team at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children before moving on to become a Freelance Paediatric Dietitian.
Deirdre also holds a position as Specialist Paediatric Dietitian at Children’s Allergy Clinic NI.
General Paediatrics – Nutritional deficiencies, complementary feeding (weaning) advice, vegetarian or vegan diets, gastrointestinal complaints e.g. constipation
Growth concerns (including faltering growth and weight management)
Selective Eating, Food Refusal and Restrictive Eating Habits
Food Allergy-Diagnosis and management of non IGE food Allergy, management of IGE food allergy and support of home introductions, Introduction of allergenic foods into the weaning diet (general population and high risk infants)
