Consultant Geriatrician
Dr Vachagan Krishnaswami is involved in the inpatient care of stroke, elderly care, and general medicine patients in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. He is the Trust Lead for Parkinson’s disease. He has worked to improve the services for Parkinsonian disorders and improve Trust performance above natural average figures in treatment, education, and multi-disciplinary allied health professional involvement in direct patient care. He is involved with implementing national guidance for Parkinson’s disease and conducting relevant national audits of the guidance.
His outpatient patient care involves Parkinsonian disorders, memory services, and general medicine-related clinical conditions.
He was appointed as a substantive consultant in Northern Health and Social Care Trust on 2nd February 2015, with services distributed in Whiteabbey Hospital, Antrim Area Hospital, Braid Valley Hospital, and Causeway Hospital.
My services include:
- Diagnosing and treatment of movement disorder conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and tremor-related conditions.
- Memory-related disorders such as dementia and minimal cognitive impairment.
- Patients with stroke, transient ischaemic attacks and related conditions.
- Fall. Transient loss of consciousness and funny turns.
