Dr John McCabe
Consultant Paediatrician
Appointed as a Consultant Paediatrician in Antrim Area Hospital, in 2016, Dr McCabe specialises in general acute paediatrics including neonates, ambulatory paediatrics and ADHD. He qualified from Queen’s University Belfast in 2005 and achieved membership to the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health in 2011 and in 2017 became a Fellow of the organisation.
In addition to having work published in the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Archives of Disease in Childhood, Dr McCabe received an award for undergraduate teaching in the Queen’s University of Belfast and continues to teach on advanced paediatric and neonatal life support courses.
Having worked in all Trusts within Northern Ireland, Dr McCabe has gained comprehensive experience in the management of acute and complex paediatric conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He is also skilled in the diagnosis and management of ADHD.
A father himself of two young sons, he enjoys rock climbing and mountaineering in his free time.
Paediatric medicine covers a broad spectrum of conditions up to the age of 16 years. Some of the conditions that Dr McCabe can offer to help with at the Mid Ulster Women’s Clinic include assessment and advice on;
