GCM/NMC No: 6031924

I qualified in Medicine from Trinity College Dublin in 2000. I interned in Dublin before accepting a place on the Belfast Trust’s medical training scheme and specialist registrar training in neurology.

I was a Research Fellow in Motor Neurone Disease (MND) from 2004-2006 and obtained a Msteres post-graduate qualification from Queen’s University Belfast. I studied the epidemiology of MND and ran a 2-year observational study titled ‘Eye Movements As a Biomarker in MND’. I currently have over 30 peer-reviewed publications.

As part of my research, I set up the Northern Ireland MND Register, a clinical and research database linked with the ROI Irish MND Register.

I took up the position of Consultant Neurological in the WHSCT in 2010 and set up Northern Ireland’s first regional MND Clinic. I continued my research, which was linked with Dr Duguez (CTRIC UUJ).

Currently, I am a PhD supervisor with the QUB Psychological Department, looking at the impact of menopause on neurological health in women. I have a strong clinical interest in this area.

General neurology with expertise in Motor Neurone Disease. I currently have a sub-speciality interest in the neurology of female health/menopause.
