Podiatrist
As a Podiatrist I specialise in problems affecting the foot and ankle. My PhD further specialised in treating all mechanical injuries of the knee, hip and lower back using orthotic therapy in combination with physical rehabilitation.
Some common conditions I treat are, Morton’s Neuroma, Plantar Fasciitis, Heel pain, Tib Post Dysfunction, Osteo Arthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes, Achilles tendon problems, Shin splints, Knee pain, ITB problems, Hip pain, Sacro-iliac pain.
I treat children, athletes, general foot pain, elderly and high-risk foot conditions and have 30 years’ experience treating patients with orthotic foot insoles and ankle foot braces.
I completed my degree in Podiatry from Queens University Belfast in 1995, followed by a Master of Research in 1997 and my PhD in 2000 at UUJ. My PhD investigated the effects of orthotics on the lower limb with specific interest in patellofemoral joint pathology. I have worked in private practice within the UK for 28 years and Australia for 2 years. I have lectured around the world and held multiple roles within the NHS over the past 30 years, most recently within Orthopaedic ICATS.
I was appointed Chief Clinical Officer for Orthotics Holding Inc based in New York, in 2018, working with a 4 strong senior leadership team to manage the growth of the largest global orthotics company.
I acquired the EU portion of this business in 2024 to reduce international travel and focus on my own clinical practice in Northern Ireland.
