Dr Shea McNeill

Consultant Respiratory Physician

Dr McNeill is a Respiratory and General Medical consultant based in Antrim Area Hospital. He is the Clinical Lead and Director of Respiratory Medicine for the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. In addition, he is the current honorary secretary of the Ulster Thoracic Society.

Dr McNeill graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2009. He undertook general medical and specialist respiratory training and has been a consultant since 2018. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2023.

Dr McNeill manages general respiratory conditions, investigating common symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, wheeze, coughing up blood, and recurring chest infections. He also investigates symptoms suspicious of sleep apnea, such as snoring, excessive fatigue, choking overnight, and gaps in breathing overnight.

He has a number of subspeciality interests, including lung cancer, obstructive sleep apnoea, obesity hypoventilation syndrome, chronic cough, asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis.
