Confused About What to Eat or How Diet Affects Your Health?
Food plays a key role in many medical conditions, but online advice can be unclear or hard to follow. Our Dietician service provides personalised, evidence based guidance tailored to your health, lifestyle, and goals, helping you make clear and practical food choices long-term.
Book an appointment with one of our dieticians today to get personalised nutrition support.
What Does a Dietician Do?
A Dietician is a regulated healthcare professional who uses evidence based nutrition to support health and manage medical conditions. This includes conditions such as diabetes, digestive disorders, heart disease, food intolerances, and weight related concerns. They assess your diet, symptoms, and medical history to provide personalised advice you can follow in everyday life.
Unlike nutritionists, Dieticians are clinically trained and professionally regulated in the UK and Northern Ireland.
Dietician Services We Offer
Our dietetic services are available as part of our weight management department, taking an expert-led approach in a private clinic setting. Appointments are structured and practical, with time to understand your health, symptoms, and dietary habits.
You will be able to discuss your concerns openly, including what you currently eat, challenges you face, and any previous advice you have received. Your Dietician will explain how food may be affecting your health and guide you through appropriate changes.
Our Dietician services include:
- An initial assessment with a qualified Dietician
- One-to-one dietetic consultation sessions
- Personalised dietary advice and meal planning guidance
- Support for conditions affected by diet, such as diabetes, digestive disorders, heart disease, food intolerances etc.
- Ongoing review of progress and follow up appointments
Who a Dietician is Suitable For
Our dietician service is suitable for adults aged 18 and over, who want professional, medically informed guidance on how diet affects their health.
You may find it helpful if you:
- Have diabetes, high cholesterol, or heart disease
- Experience digestive symptoms such as bloating, pain, constipation, or diarrhoea
- Have food intolerances or coeliac disease
- Are managing weight loss, weight gain, or unplanned weight changes
- Have nutritional deficiencies or follow a restricted diet
- Want clear, evidence based advice rather than general nutrition information
- Have ongoing concerns related to male & female factor fertility
- Are currently pregnant or planning for a pregnancy
Do I Need a Referral?
You do not need a GP referral to see a Dietician in our private clinic. You can self refer if you have concerns about your diet, symptoms, or health and would like professional guidance.
Some people attend with a diagnosed medical condition, while others come for advice on symptoms, weight changes, or general nutritional concerns. If you have recent test results or medical information, you are welcome to bring these, but this is not required.
How Often Will I Need to See a Dietician?
How often you attend depends on your needs, goals, and starting point. This will vary based on whether you are seeking advice for a specific issue or ongoing support for a health condition.
For example, some people attend once for guidance and reassurance. Others may attend two to four sessions to support changes around weight, digestive symptoms, or diet related conditions. People managing longer term conditions may benefit from follow up appointments every few weeks until their symptoms or diet are stable.
Your Dietician will discuss a suitable plan with you, based on what support is most helpful.
